The Sahood Fort is located outside of Al Mubarraz's western defenses in Saudi Arabia. The Saudi Arabian Armed Forces keep their barracks at the fort.
The construction of the fort is beautfully designed by mud bricks, which are covered by palm trunks on the internal and external bases. Mud and grit filled the spaces between the layers of the walls, adding further layers of protection. For added protection against invaders, cannon slots were made in the walls. Towers are directly affixed to the walls to facilitate surveillance. There are two internal floors in each of the fort's towers. The outer half of the fort has a deep ditch that makes it difficult for attackers to get inside.
Sahood Fort, whose origins are uncertain but which is thought to have been constructed in the seventeenth century, serves as a barracks for the Saudi Armed Forces. Parking is available around the fort. People usually take a stroll around the fort, when they park their cars from a long drive. Kids run through the heaps of sands, making sandcastles.
